Custom Fabricated Mounts for the Unitree Go2

The VAR Lab designed and fabricated custom back mounts for our Unitree Go2 robot dog to expand how it can be used for demonstrations, research, and mobile technology showcases.

To create the mounts, we first 3D scanned the back of the robot to capture its exact shape. The scan was then used as a reference for CAD design, allowing us to create mounts that fit the robot’s body more precisely. The final parts were 3D printed using durable materials, including carbon fiber filament and ABS.

This workflow allowed us to move from scanning, to design, to fabrication, creating custom hardware that supports the robot without relying on off-the-shelf mounting solutions.
