VAR Studios is thrilled to announce the launch of a new studio space that expands our production capabilities. The XRcast podcasting studio is designed to capture mixed reality content, with limitless use cases for creating more engaging course materials, producing VR RunThroughs of various virtual reality programs, entertainment. Faculty can use these reviews to choose which program to include in their course. Once captured, the content can be viewed conveniently through a traditional 2D screen, providing the audience with many of the benefits of immersive storytelling in a more accessible format.

The student team leading this project consists of Graduate Project Manager, Marcus Jacobs, and Executive Producer, Remington Orange. Construction of the studio will begin in the Fall 2022 semester, and the production of publish-ready content will begin in the Spring 2023 semester. The XRcast studio is in the VAR Lab’s lounge area, in the Merwin 214 business suite. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the members of our community who generously contributed to making this space possible and supported the VAR Lab’s mission.
